Steve has 31 years of experience in the life and health insurance field. He attended The University of Nebraska majoring in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting. He began his insurance career in 1978 with Liberty Mutual and Connecticut General. He holds his Registered Health Underwriter (RHU) designation.
In 1982, Steve began his management career as Regional Vice President for a California based third party administrator and supervised a 16 state region specializing in marketing a proprietary small group health insurance product. From there he became Marketing Vice President for a Midwestern life insurance company. In 1994, Steve formed an agency that was a wholly owned subsidiary of a local hospital and built a community health plan that directed people to the local hospital by way of the PPO network.
One of the main areas of focus for Financial Services is assisting employers with providing top quality employee health benefits that are compliant with the Affordable Care Act, yet affordable in cost to both employers and their employees. We have very creative products/programs not readily available to most brokers in the area that hold the line on costs while providing excellent benefits.
Steve joined Scarbrough, Medlin & Associates, Inc. in 2002 as an Account Executive specializing in worksite marketing and individual life sales and he concurrently leads the Financial Services Department. He has a strong reputation for excellent customer service coupled with his consultative approach to advising clients.
